Ninety percent of what we see on the news fits into the &quot;doesn&#039;t affect me/I can&#039;t do anything about it&quot; section of your matrix. Did you ever notice how many news stories follow each other? One suburban white girl gets abducted, then you hear a million stories about others. I don&#039;t think it&#039;s an indication that it&#039;s happening more, I think it&#039;s the news following trends.

None of which is going to affect how much I watch or read the news (a LOT), because I&#039;m obsessed with the weather and sports. Go figure.</description>
