Scribus for Windows

Date January 25, 2006

The latest release and beta of the page layout program Scribus, is now available for Windows and Mac. This former Linux program is open source and has really made some improvements. I’ve been tinkering with the program on XP and it renders well, in my opinion more pretty than quark and pagemaker. I was trying to change the fill and stroke of any object and couldn’t readily find the place to do that. Then I crashed. But other things were working great, like the pages window, inserting images and text, exporting to PDF, moving masked images within frames.
