Wehrenberg Theaters theme song

Date January 25, 2005

Does anyone remember the Wehrenberg Theaters theme song? You wouldn’t unless you are from St. Louis and have been there for quite some time. They changed it around 1995. The classic song is so much better than the current one.

Don’t you wish you remembered it? Well, you don’t have to. You can download it right here, at least for the time being. I ripped my tape of it to mp3 tonight so I could give it to the community. I haven’t seen it anywhere else on the net.

Wehrenberg Classic Theater Intro 1964
Wehrenberg Classic Commercial 1964
Wehrenberg Current theater Intro 1995

The ones from 1964 hopefully are public domain, I’m sure the current one is not, and I’ll get a cease and desist letter from their lawyers at some point. If you are reading this, Mr. Krueger (Wehrenberg Owner) please let this download go free.

Thanks for posting this mp3 of the original theme. I love this theme! i find it annoying when people call it corny or cheesy… the second it starts playing I feel all warm inside, cuz as a movie obsessed kid growing up in the 70’s when was I ever more happy than sitting in a theatre or on the hood of the car at the drive-in hearing this theme and getting ready to see a movie or two? Thanks again!

Thanks, Mike, for providing this complete version. I found this page through Ask.com. The other versions I’ve found have a butchered version of the tune. Like Steve, I, too, have found memories (like watching Star Wars at the Des Peres 4 Cine´) of the excitement of hearing the theme as the lights dimmed and the curtains opened–not today’s ads and commercials that precede today’s feature film viewing at theaters.

Wow…I can identify with both Ron and Chris regarding all the memories that little jingle brings back, mostly from the Cinema 4 Center in St. Charles and of the one and only time I went to the 66 Park-In before it closed. I had that same excited feeling when the theme started and the lights went down. A truly unique St. Louis experience.

Thanks for posting that….the classic theme is all over, but I couldn’t find the 95 version anywhere. I think I might have the 2000’s version somewhere too, if you’d like it.

There’s a song @ http://myspace.com/sillynelson using samples from the theme (song is called Fairview)…. Enjoy!

I used to call the “bah-bah-bah-bah” part the Sheep Chorus. At least they left the spirit of the Sheep in the new theme, but I like old one better. You’ve got to admit that it is VERY 60’s.

Born and raised in North STL County, moved away to Illinois after college. We just got a Wehrenberg theatre with some awful whisper-like theme song now. But the new theatre brought back the bah-bah-bah memories of yester year so I had to seek out the theme. It now has an honored place in my iTunes library. Thanks much!!

OMG! I CAN NOT BELIEVE WHAT I AM HEARING! I LOVE THESE SONGS!

Even though Im only 26, these songs INSTANTLY brought back memories of going to the old Kenrick theater that is now shut down! :( I can remember going there and that place being PACKED on weekends! I can also remember standing in line for the nickle day to see any movie you wanted! That was great! :)

I downloaded the song on my computer, but does anyone know how to send it to ITunes? Also, does anyone know if the song can be downloaded to your cell phone some way, some how?!?!? I would really love to be able to do that!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!
    Wehrenberg Rocks!
